FAQ

GOT A QUESTION? WE'VE GOT THE ANSWER

  • How much pizza will we need for our event?
This can vary from event to event, but generally speaking for a wedding where your guests have already eaten, it is advisable to allocate â…” to a whole pizza per person, and for events where pizza/waffles will be the main food, then we suggest a whole pizza and waffle per person.
  • How does hiring you for an event work exactly?
We know you’ve got enough to worry about organising for your special day, so we’ve tried to make the process of booking us as straightforward as possible. Simply fill in our event inquiry form, we will then get back to you with a quote outlining everything included in the price, and if you are happy you can pay the 30% deposit to secure your booking, and then the remaining 70% balance just needs to be paid no later than 4 weeks prior to the event.
  • What's the difference between the different packages?
We offer 3 different packages to suit your event’s needs! The 3 packages are The Dough Package, The Dessert Package, and the most popular, Dough&Desserts Package. You can find full details of each package, as well as price per head, on our pricing page.
  • How much does it cost to hire us?
Our prices for an event are based on the number of people who we will be catering for. Usually, this will be the number of guests you are having at your wedding/event. The price per head can be found on our pricing page.
  • Are there any other costs such as travel, fuel, etc. not included in the package prices?
No, our price per person is all inclusive with no hidden additional costs.
  • How far do you travel?
We can accommodate events within Lincolnshire (please note if your venue is on the outer edges of Lincolnshire we may be unable to cater for you - please include the venue in your inquiry form)
  • What happens if we order too much?
If we have left over dough at the end of the event, we will use it up and make pizzas that will be boxed up for you and your guests to take away/eat later in the night.
  • Can we order more on the day?
As we use a 48 hour dough proofing technique to ensure a soft, crunchy and delicious pizza, and as a result we can’t make more dough/cater for more guests without at least 48 hours of notice. If there will be more guests attending than initially quoted for, please email us at book@doughdesserts.co.uk with an updated number of guests, and we will send an adjusted invoice to reflect this, and also make more dough for your event.
  • How many pizzas can we choose for our event?
Our standard packages include your choice of 4 pizzas from our set event menu. If you would like to select more pizzas for your event, there is just an additional charge of £2/head for this.
  • What do you need from us?
We just need you to ensure your event’s venue accepts 3rd party caterers, and has approximately at least a 2x3m flat area where we can pitch up our van.
  • Do you provide plates, napkins, etc.?
Yes - we will provide your guests with compostable plates, napkins and cutlery. We will also carry pizza boxes for any guests that would prefer one, as well as for any leftovers.
  • Do you offer buffet style or pizza per person?
We believe buffet style is preferable for most events, as they allow your guests to sample a variety of different pizzas, and also have as little or as much as they like. However we can offer a pizza per person as well, these can be served on plates or on boxes (boxes do carry an additional 50p per head charge). Our waffles are served to order.
  • Do you offer both buffet style and whole pizza per person?
This can vary from event to event, but generally speaking for a wedding where your guests have already eaten, it is advisable to allocate â…” to a whole pizza per person, and for events where pizza/waffles will be the main food, then we suggest a whole pizza and waffle per person.

  • Can we choose bespoke pizzas/waffles not found on your menu?
Sure, if you have a particular pizza(s) in mind that our not found on our set event menu, just let us know in your event inquiry form/by email at book@doughdesserts.co.uk, and we will be sure to try our best to offer it for your event.
  • Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?
Absolutely - we can cater for vegan, GF and other dietary requirements. We do require you let us know in advance in your event inquiry form/by email at book@doughdesserts.co.uk which dietary requirements your guests have and how many of each. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate these dietary requirements, unfortunately due to the small proximity of our van, we cannot fully guarantee zero cross contamination of ingredients, and as such it will be at the discretion of your guests as to whether they wish to consume our food.
  • Do you offer GF dough/desserts?
We can offer GF pizzas and waffles, however they will be cooked in the same oven/waffle machine as non-GF pizzas and waffles, so some cross contamination may occur. As a result it is up to your guest’s discretion. We do ask you to inform your GF guests to let us know when they are at our van, so we can clean our work surfaces and prepare their food.
  • How quickly can you cook a pizza/waffle?
Our pizzas cook in approximately 90 seconds in our 500 degree oven, so your guests will have a constant supply of fresh, authentic wood fired pizzas.
  • Do you offer pizzas/waffles at the same time?
For our Dough&Dessert package, we will serve up all the allocated pizzas first, and then clean down to offer waffles/desserts for another service. We don’t offer pizzas and desserts at the same time as we need to clean our work surfaces in between service.
  • At what time do you arrive/leave our event?
We need to be at your event 60-90 minutes prior to service to allow time for our oven to be lit and heat up, prepare toppings, etc. We also will need around 30 minutes of time after service to clean up and leave.
  • How long will you be at our event?
This will depend on the package you choose, as well as the number of guests at your event. We can average around a pizza a minute, so for 60 guests we will be approximately 60 minutes serving pizza, for 120 guests it will be 120 minutes, and so on. Similarly for our waffles/desserts, we will average around a waffle/ice cream a minute, so the time allocation is the same as the pizzas. We also need 60 minutes prior to service to set up, and 30 minutes to clean down. So for example, our Dough&Dessert package for a wedding of 90 guests will require 60 minutes of setup time, 90 minutes of pizza service, 90 minutes of dessert service, and 30 minutes of clean up, so we would be at your event for approximately 4.5 hours.
  • What if it is raining?
We can bring a marquee to cover the serving table to prevent any food getting wet.
  • How does payment work?
Once you have received a quote that you are happy to proceed with, we ask that you pay a 30% deposit to secure your event’s booking. At this point your event is booked in, and you just need to pay the remaining 70% balance no later than 4 weeks prior to the event’s start date.
  • When do our event's details need finalising?
If there is a change to your event (such as number of guests, dietary requirements, etc.) we need to be notified no later than 48 hours prior to the event start date. Ideally you can confirm your event details ASAP to allow plenty of time for us to make arrangements.
